WHY BUILD ONE-TO-ONE RELATIONSHIPS

IN CONGREGATIONAL COMMUNITY?

1. There's no real knowing each other's hopes and pressures without the one-to-one relationship.

2. There's no consensus on problems and strategies without the one-to-one relationship.

3. There's no legitimacy of leadership without the one-to-one relationship.

4. There's no commitment to social justice without the one-to-one relationship.

5. There's no broadly based ownership and support of congregational community organizing without the one-to-one relationship.

6. There's no breadth and depth of commitment to action in a congregational community without the one-to-one relationship.

7. There's no constituency, that is, an organized body of people supporting our action as a synagogue in the larger community, without the one-to-one relationship.

8. There's no leverage to influence decision-makers in the larger community without the one-to-one relationship.

9. There's no congregational continuity from generation to generation without the one-to-one relationship.

10. There's no foundation for bringing Torah to life in the day-to-day life of Jews without the one-to-one relationship.
